Healthcare

Healthcare is under attack in the US from the federal government on down. From cuts to Medicaid, reductions to staff at CDC and FDA among others, to restrictions on reproductive rights and gender-affirming care, the cost of healthcare, the quality of treatment and ability for patients to make decisions on their care are all at risk.

William has always had an interest in healthcare, working briefly as an EMT in San Diego, CA in the Emergency Department and ambulance services. Being able to have quality healthcare that is affordable is very important to him. The current representatives in Hooksett are focused on restricting vaccines and the NH vaccine program to limit an individual’s access to medicine rather than addressing costs. In fact, our representatives have increased the premiums for Medicaid and increased cost-sharing, both of which disproportionally impact low-income families.

In Concord, William will work to defend healthcare rights such as with Senate Bill 551 which would codify into state law the fundamental right to reproductive health care. He will also work to address the rising costs of healthcare, starting by rolling back the increased premiums and cost-sharing of Medicaid in NH.
